The message in the is truly resonates with me in a subliminal level. This reminds me of one of favorite quotes from somebody who was one of those kids that want to change the system. This individual said that "If you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will believe that it is worthless." Being affluent at oral presentations but poor at exams is the same as being a great math student who can't remember the capital of Thailand. This system makes things seems 1- Dimensional. What if you are the most brilliant mind in a certain area of mathematics but no one lead you there or accommodated your learning style? Then you would live your life believing you are worthless. I wonder what would happen if every school administrator saw this, would their mindset on standardized tests change? It definitely made me think and personally it makes perfect sense to stop giving standardized tests.
